CONCLUSION
In the evaluation of these four editorial cartoons, it’s easy to see how the US views immigration as a whole and also in separate entities as we see the views of Democrats, Republicans, and Immigrants in general. There is some Bias in the cartoons when looking at it from an informational view. The cartoonists many times draw a conclusion without having sufficient evidence, using hasty generalizations.
The biggest similarity between the four cartoons is their prevalence of fear, the idea that we have something to be afraid of dealing with immigration whether on the side of the US, or the immigrants.
The truths shown in these cartoons are prevalent as they show that some Americans are upset with our immigration laws, and yet they themselves are not sure how to make a difference and go on complaining but not changing. Also showing immigrants with a face of fear, many are afraid of being caught and want to make a new life in America.
Although there are some Bias’, the artists are trying to show us the issues that are prevalent today regarding immigration.
