CONCLUSION
After looking at and evaluating these four cartoons, it is evident that the Syrian refugee crisis is just that, a crisis. It’s a complicated problem with many layers involved. It’s a potential problem when considering we don’t know exactly who we are letting into our country if the U.S. allows Syrians to migrate here. It is also portrayed as a potential problem to the U.S. in regards to our welfare programs, who would most likely be the ones responsible for taking care the refugees. It would simply result in more people in our country demanding food, shelter, and jobs. According to one cartoon, offering a helping hand isn’t even a priority or something we as Americans are interested in. We are more engaged in the current political campaigns and those campaigning and that is a problem in and of itself as we can see in the last cartoon. As a member of the U.N., the United States and other advanced countries have the obligation to reach out to those in need and not allow that less fortunate countries, receive the entire problem on their own.
